Multnomah and Washington County 4-H are proud to announce the 4-H Sustainable Living Schools and Club Leader Training November 5-7 in Tualatin, Oregon. This is a perfect opportunity for beginners and experts alike to gain knowledge and critical skills in integrating sustainable living education into both school and club settings. This
3-day conference is specifically designed for teachers, 4-H Leaders, parents and community members who wish to engage youth in hands-on sustainable living concepts and curriculum; develop and manage school gardens; and to implement youth focused green infrastructure projects in school and community settings. Register for all three days or just one day. Workshops include: sustainability 101,project management, lessons for working with youth, grant funding for your project, urban gardens and farms, the Sustainable Built environment, backyard chickens, cooking with local foods and more! Day three of the conference will be held at the Mary Woodward School Gardens. The Woodward Gardens is an ideal site for learning how to transform your school site into a rich outdoor learning center for youth, staff and families.

Mary Woodward School
Woodward Gardens is a collection of garden rooms that provides students at the elementary school level a hands-on approach to science as well as provides learning opportunities in art, mathematics, social studies, and writing projects throughout the year.These rooms range from subjects such as butterflies, birds, and wetlands to garden plots with vegetables and flowers. The site includes a wetlands walkway, green houses, raised beds for food production, a compost demonstration site, outdoor shelters, and much more.
