The 4-H Junior Wildlife Stewards
Camp is sponsored by OSU Extension 4-H.
The camp is open to boys
and girls completing grades 3-8 in 2012. The camp is designed for
youth who wish to explore the wonders of nature in an outdoor setting.
The focus of the 4-H Junior Wildlife Stewards Camp is on wildlife, fishing,
and learning about the environment. Previous experience or knowledge
in these areas is not required - 4-H welcomes novices who want to
learn and have fun in the process. You do not have to be a 4-H member
to participate in camp.
Trained staff from OSU Extension
4-H will provide guidance in the basics of fishing and aquatic habitats,
wildlife tracking, nature crafts, forestry, horseback riding, canoeing, evening campfire programs, and more. Campers will
take on new responsibilities and learn new skills as members of the
camp community. Other special highlights for the entire camp community is e a hands-on wildlife restoration project.
For those campers with a special interest in science or art, we will again offer the very popular science focus and art focus classes during camp. These popular classes offer campers additional learning time to explore science or art while at camp.
